She Hate Me

So, the other night I'm in the crib watching HEROES and I bear witness to a scene featuring the gorgeous Dania Ramirez. At this point I start thinking about how bad this girl is and how much I loved her in Spike Lee's film She Hate Me. After being lost in thought for several minutes I snap back into reality and begin to look for my copy of She Hate Me. Less than 3 minutes into my search I realize that my DVD is no longer in my position because it was indirectly loaned out to this chick I know (this is the reason I no longer loan out DVD's).

Here's the back story...
About 2 years ago I was at the 9-5 telling one of my homies about She Hate Me and how I just loved the movie. Consequently, my co-worker asks if he could borrow the movie and see what all the frenzy is about. I loan dude the movie cuz we're mad cool and I see him every day so I should have no problem getting my DVD back. About a month goes by and I had more or less forgotten that I loaned homie the DVD until, I'm home entertaining guests and one of the girls at the house asks me about She Hate Me. Upon being questioned about the film I could not help but think that I had to see the movie again ASAP at the least to get glimpses of Dania Ramirez and Kerry Washington.

The next day at work I ask my friend if he can bring in the movie so I can get it back and he agrees to bring it in the following day. The next day I go to my man's desk so I can get my DVD only to find out that he lent it out to another co-worker of ours. Now in my mind I'm like "WHAT THE FUCK!!!!" but remained the G that I am and kept my composure. I waited until the next day to check my other co-worker and inquire as to if he enjoyed the film. Needless to say he loved it and agreed that he would bring it back to the office the following day so I could get it back (here comes the kicker).

So, the next day I'm over by my co-workers desk and I'm asking him for the DVD. In turn, he tells me that he gave it to a fourth co-worker of ours to return to me since her desk is next to mine. Now, the girl in possession of my DVD is an intern and only comes to the office twice a week. Now, I'm starting to get upset cuz this is the second time the DVD has traded hands without me receiving prior notification. So, I take a depth breath and once again maintain my composure because there is still a chance that I would be able to go home that evening with my DVD in hand. As I try to make my way back to my desk everybody in the office stops me to have a conversation about stuff I have no desire or interest to discuss. So naturally, by the time I get back to my desk shorty has rolled out for the day and my copy of She Hate Me is no where in sight. Once again I am at a loss because I have no clue as to when this chick will be back in the office or whether or not she left my DVD at work or took it home.

The following week I run into our young intern at the office and ask her if she happened to have my movie. She replies that upon reading the film synopsis on the back of the DVD she became curious and felt compelled to take the movie home and watch it. I in turn ask her if she liked it. She then responded by saying that she had yet to watch it because she was busy doing school work and didn't have the time to sit down and watch the movie. Now shorty is nice looking young lady, so I decided to give her a pass on getting cursed out. I simply tell her "No prob, just bring in the movie after you watch it and tell me what you think." So, weeks go by and I'm steady asking shorty about the movie every time I see her. I know this may seem type annoying but I could give a fuck cuz I want my movie back in the worst way. The sad thing is every time I ask her about the movie she's steady telling me that she hasn't had time to watch it because she's sooooooo busy with school. What The Hell is going on here????

So weeks turn into months and months turn into a year. I'm asking less frequently but shorty stays giving me the same tired response that she hasn't watched the movie cuz school is monopolizing her time. So the year goes by and now we're back to the present and I'm watching sexy ass Dania Ramirez on NBC and I'm back to thinking about She Hate Me. The next day I'm at work hoping shorty will come in so I can once again ask her where the fuck is my movie (at this point it's prolly been 5 months since I last asked). Unfortunately, she doesn't make it into the office all week long (one of the other interns informed me that it's finals week and she prolly won't be in the office cuz she's a fake ass over achiever).

So, after all of this unnecessary verbiage the moral of this story is go buy She Hate Me, watch it, and don't loan it out to any of your friends or associates cuz you will never see it again. Oh yeah, Anthony Mackie is a lucky dude.
