Implementing the Pink Panther into their latest ad campaign, Japanese brand ICB looks towards Terry Richardson to provide imagery for Summer 2009. Entitled “Girls Love the Pink Panther”, the photo shoot interestingly combines the acclaimed work of Terry Richardson with the Pink Panther’s iconic image.

Louis Vuitton X Takashi Murakami...Again

Photobucket

Once again, iconic brand Louis Vuitton has called upon the great Takashi Murakami for his design services. This time, Murakami has re-designed the interior of Louis Vuitton’s Omotesando Chapter store.

Photobucket

The interior takes on the life of Murakami’s creations with a kaleidoscope of colors, images and plush characters. The new design coincides with the release of their Multicolor Spring Pallet collaborative product and should remain in tact for sometime.

ARE YOU IN???

From Nike, the world’s leading sports brand, comes an exclusive release by De La Soul, one of the most influential hip hop bands of the last two decades. Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of 3 Feet High and Rising, De La Soul and Nike release ARE YOU IN?: Nike+ Original Run, which is the groups’ first-released original material in five-years. The record is only available through iTunes, and is part of a continuing series of releases through the “Nike+ Sport Music” section of the store.

Photobucket

With additional production by Chicago-based DJ/Production-duo Flosstradamus, ARE YOU IN?: Nike+ Original Run is a unique album written specifically for runners, but its allure extends to all music fans. Posdnuos of De La Soul explains, “When we first heard about this project we were psyched on the challenge. We pride ourselves on being able to get bodies moving, so it was cool to do it with a specific goal in mind – giving runners the sonic fuel to clock some miles.” The album is now available at the Apple iTunes Music Store.

The Best on MARS...Do Ya Know???

Photobucket

Spike Lee is not only an amazing director/actor but also an icon in the basketball/sneaker arena. Spike's die hard Mars Blackmon persona changed the entire marketing dynamic for Nike's Air Jordan Sneakers in the early 90's. The pairing of his Royal Airness with Mars's crazy antics and "cool guy" slanguage helped skyrocket in sales for the Air Jordans.

Spike was soooooooo instrumental in Air Jordan marketing campaign that Mr. Blackmon has had several special edition of models of a few of the Jordan sillhouettes and even hashis own Spizike model in a variety of colorways. Big Ups to My main man Mars!!! Yo Money, it's gotta be the shoes!!!

Oh yeah, make sure ya'll check for Spike's up coming feature on Mr. Kobe "I'm the closest thing to MJ playing in the NBA right now" Bryant.

More Trainers

Photobucket

Aiight, so The Swoosh is doing it real major this month with the Air Trainer releases. The SB division of Nike is also dropping a colorway of the classic Air Trainers this month. This model is slightly different as it is the Air Trainer II TW.

This version of the trainer hasn't seen much limelight since bursting onto the scene via the Nike/Supreme collaboration back in 2007. The mostly black colorway features subtle light-pink highlights on various branded portions of the shoe including tongue, forefoot strap, heel and out sole.

I'm feeling this colorway a lot more than the candy stripper colorway. The SB design team comes correct (PAUSE) using subtle pink accents to compliment the all black silhouette. Big Ups to the SB design lab.

New Trainers

Photobucket

One shoe that I always loved and is not often retro-ed is the original trainer by Nike. This month Nike is dropping a version of the trainer that features a striped pattern with a little button highlight on the forefoot strap.

Another nicely added touch is the use of the cursive Nike logo on the back of the heel as opposed to the usual Nike Air/Swoosh logo. Heads should definitely be checking for these.

New Women's Tear-Away Blazers

Photobucket

I swear the ladies get some of the dopest sneaker colorways.

Having been a sparingly used theme of Nike over the years, the tearaway style much recently seen on the Nike 1World CLOT Air Force 1 trickles down for use in this women’s Blazer.

A translucent material covers up a bright pattern underneath offering the chance to cut and customize to the wearer’s liking.

All the fly young ladies out there need to go scoop these up.

Nike Blazer Hi “Jackie Robinson” Pack

Photobucket

First the projects, then the expressway, and now...the sneakers!!!

Paying homage to baseball icon Jackie Robinson, Nike works up a new pack of Blazer Hi’s featuring the colors that have become synonymous with the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers since their inception into the National League in 1890.

Photobucket

Most widely recognized for his roles as a superstar player as well as breaking the color barrier within Major League Baseball, Jackie remains a cultural legend within the world of sports and civil rights alike.

This new collection, in his honor, boasts the trademark Brooklyn logo on each tongue as well the traditional Brooklyn “B” emblazoned in an all-over Diamond print format. All three colorways, including a red canvas, royal nubuck, and grey suede, are now available at select Nike retailers including Proper.

"Crips and Bloods: Maid in America"

So, I was checking out The Huffington Post the other day when I came across an article written by skateboarding icon Stacy Peralta called "The Movie they Didn't Want you to See".

The article touched on how the film is the type of movie that no company in Hollywood would fund because "they felt nobody cared!!!"; or in Stacy's words...

"If affluent white teenagers in Beverly Hills were forming neighborhood gangs, arming themselves with automatic assault rifles and killing other affluent white teenagers who were also living in upscale neighborhoods and were also arming themselves with AK 47s and shooting to kill, what would the response of our society be? Would society respond or would society ignore it? Would our government respond, if so, how would our government respond?"

This caught the attention of Baron Davis (NBA point guard for the LA Clippers and Silicon Valley businessman named Steve Luczo, who later put up the ends to fund the Documentary.

Tho I haven't seen the documentary, I am anxiously trying to find out how or where I can sit down and watch this one.

Check out the site for Crips and Bloods: Made in America Here.

Kanye West X South Park = "Gayfish"???

Photobucket

Often the focus of much TV scrutiny for its offensive subject matter, South Park look to Kanye West as the star of one of their latest episodes. With Kanye West's sexuality coming into question because of his approach to clothing, the episode revolves around the labeling of him as “gayfish”. The infamous members of Kanye’s entourage seen during Paris Fashion Week also make an appearance including Chris Julian, Don C, Taz Arnold, Fonzworth Bentley, Virgil Abloh and Ferrari Murkami. But if there’s anybody who can take a joke and riding on a massive wave of confidence, it’s Yeezy.

Oddly enough the Southpark representation of Ye looks just like him.

Gimme a kiss!!!

Photobucket

One of the latest silhouettes from the Nike SB campaign showcases a new Blazer SB in a interesting black/yellow colorway.

The kicks feature a combination of suede and canvas uppers coupled with a “kiss” print throughout the yellow paneling. From a distance these could be mistaken for cheetah print so, Hypebeasts beware!!!!!!!

North Carolina!!!!!!!!!!

Photobucket

If you're a die hard basketball fan like the kid then you stayed up last nite to watch the University of North Carolina Tar heels serve the Michigan State University Spartans a healthy plate of HUMBLE PIE!!!

Photobucket

I have been a fan of UNC basketball since I discovered that's where my man MJ got his weight up before transitioning to the NBA. Needless to say I was SUPER HYPED that my squad got another blowout victory and added another NCAA championship to their collection.

Yesterday's win solidified UNC as having the most NCAA basketball championship wins. Apologies go out to Duke and UCLA cuz they're right there. Just remember that next season you guys will get another chance to make a run for the chip.

Photobucket

To all the fans, do me a favor and check out this article over at the ESPN website.
