Premiering Saturday, August 1st, at 2PM, Alife Rivington Club is set to release the A.R.C. Nike Dunk High Supreme TZ at its A.R.C. Sports location at 157 Rivington Street.

In contrast to the previous collaborative release between Alife Rivington Club and Nike—the all white A.R.C. AF1—this A.R.C. Nike Dunk High features an all black upper adorned by a white Swoosh and a white A.R.C. seal on the heel. As with the AF1, the upper sits on a tonal midsole and gum colored outsole.

Hidden within the shoe's simple and classic upper design are technical features that enhance its functionality, most notably in the use of Schoeller technical fabrics and 0.44 sticky rubber outsole.

The A.R.C. Nike Dunk High retails for $158.00 and will be accompanied by a complimentary "Black, White, Gum & Bang!" T-shirt to the first 100 customers that purchase the shoe. For those who are not in the first 100, the shirt will also be available for purchase.

Richard Haines: "What I Saw Today"

Having worked for big names such as Calvin Klein, Bill Blass, Perry Ellis, and Sean Combs, Richard Haines looked to set himself apart from the pack as he put to work his sketching talents. His approach to self-marketing his talents as a fashion designer (albeit with classic training in fine hart) has seen him replicate the styles of many of the people he comes in contact with on the daily in New York in hopes of showcasing his creative side.

In an interview with The Malcom, Richard Haines touches on his work in addition to getting some insights into his reasoning behind the launch of WHAT I SAW TODAY, his online journal involving his interactions.

The Seventh Seal is Coming

Photobucket

Oddly enough last week I was engaged in a debate about rap music (something I usually try to avoid) with a friend of mine. Of the numerous absurdities my friend proclaimed about who are the best rappers alive today the worst of the worst was when said friend tried to tell me that out of Eric B and Rakim's legendary catalog of classic material only 20% of said material was "hot".

Needless to say my friendship was almost instantly terminated because it took every ounce of self control I had to prevent me from smacking the shit outta my friend for uttering such blasphemous tomfoolery.

There’s only a handful of artists whose influence impacted the development and progression of the Hip Hop art form dating back to its roots (Rakim being one of the special few), so it’s always important to pay respect.

Rakim is back with a new single entitled, “Holy Are You.” This will be the lead single from his highly anticipated album The Seventh Seal set to release early Fall 2009.

The album is said to be a contemporary observation of the Hip Hop culture he helped define, it’s been a long time coming so hang tight.

In the meantime, check out the track!
