Premiering Saturday, August 1st, at 2PM, Alife Rivington Club is set to release the A.R.C. Nike Dunk High Supreme TZ at its A.R.C. Sports location at 157 Rivington Street.

Nike Dunk High features an all black upper adorned by a white Swoosh and a white A.R.C. seal on the heel. As with the AF1, the upper sits on a tonal midsole and gum colored outsole.

Peep the track here.
Richard Haines: "What I Saw Today"
Having worked for big names such as Calvin Klein, Bill Blass, Perry Ellis, and Sean Combs, Richard Haines looked to set himself apart from the pack as he put to work his sketching talents. His approach to self-marketing his talents as a fashion designer (albeit with classic training in fine hart) has seen him replicate the styles of many of the people he comes in contact with on the daily in New York in hopes of showcasing his creative side.
In an interview with The Malcom, Richard Haines touches on his work in addition to getting some insights into his reasoning behind the launch of WHAT I SAW TODAY, his online journal involving his interactions.

The Seventh Seal is Coming
Oddly enough last week I was engaged in a debate about rap music (something I usually try to avoid) with a friend of mine. Of the numerous absurdities my friend proclaimed about who are the best rappers alive today the worst of the worst was when said friend tried to tell me that out of Eric B and Rakim's legendary catalog of classic material only 20% of said material was "hot".
Needless to say my friendship was almost instantly terminated because it took every ounce of self control I had to prevent me from smacking the shit outta my friend for uttering such blasphemous tomfoolery.
There’s only a handful of artists whose influence impacted the development and progression of the Hip Hop art form dating back to its roots (Rakim being one of the special few), so it’s always important to pay respect.
Rakim is back with a new single entitled, “Holy Are You.” This will be the lead single from his highly anticipated album The Seventh Seal set to release early Fall 2009.
The album is said to be a contemporary observation of the Hip Hop culture he helped define, it’s been a long time coming so hang tight.
In the meantime, check out the track!

A Day Skating at the White House
Just recently, the good folks from Acapulco Gold put together a one of kind event as they approached one of the world’s most heavily guarded residences in hopes of securing a chance to skate in front of the White House. The event as part of “The Pursuit of Happiness” program was to help “promote physical activity, health and happiness through skateboarding.” The whole event captured on film combines some great sights and drew a respectable crowd. Follow the words of AG themselves below.
Washington D.C. - Here is an idea for you - What if we get a permit to skate in front of the White House? I don’t mean get your friends together and skate by the White House. I mean call up the Washington D.C. Department of Transportation and the US Secret Service and say “Hey, we want to throw an event called The Pursuit of Happiness to help promote physical activity, health and happiness through skateboarding.
Oh and we want to film it right in front of the White House”. Next thing you know we get a call from President Obama himself who tells us, “Listen, this is a great idea. I will personally make sure this goes through. Mi casa su casa”. OK so maybe that didn’t happen, but we’re almost 10% positive he had some say in getting us the permit.
So now that we had permission to do what we want, let’s jam a bunch of skaters from NYC into a van and make the 4hr trip (7hrs with traffic + rest stops) and play a few games of S.K.A.T.E. Winners had the choice of a limited edition Presidential Seal deck or a limited edition White House Seal deck. It couldn't’t have been better with the White House in the background, the snipers on the roof and a crowd of tourists and onlookers cheering for all of the skaters.
Not to mention the 3 to 4 different groups of protesters yelling and playing music all around us. Democracy at its best. Tony Hawk got to sneak a ride in the White House, but we put on a game of S.K.A.T.E. for a few hours right in front on Pennsylvania Avenue.
All the credit goes to Billy Rohan and Paula Hewitt of Open Road for making this possible. And thanks to Taji Ameen, Dave Willis, Big Daddy Kane, Jake Johnson, Leo Gutman, Vince Danger, Pryce Holmes, Rob Harris, and Yoehei of Supreme Japan for making the trek and putting on a show.

Romero Britto X Bentley Continental GT
For his exhibition “Come to my World” in Berlin, the famous artist Romero Britto chose a Bentley Continental GT as a canvas for his cheerful and vivid signature motifs.
This is probably one of the most unusual Bentleys ever seen: a large, happy flower, little stars, squiggles and signs dance on the elegant hood and colourful, comic-like figures adorn the doors. The Continental GT – a static prototype built in 2003 – has become a truly unique work of art created by the world-renowned Brazilian artist Romero Britto. Bentley Motors donated the Coupe on the occasion of Britto´s Berlin exhibition “Come to my World” in the Automobil Forum Unter den Linden.
Britto, one of the most admired and popular artists currently working within Pop Art, creates pieces specifically to put a smile on people´s faces.
Having grown up in poverty in Recife, Brazil, his work belies his background by creating a fantasy world inhabited by child-like creatures and optimistic, strong colours. “Since everything in life moves toward an end”, says Romero Britto, “we should fill our life with colour and hope.” His paintings, graphics and sculptures can be admired in many of the world’s leading art galleries including the Museum of Modern Art and Guggenheim in New York. He counts the Kennedys, Rothchilds, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, Steffi Graf and Elton John among his friends and collectors.
Romero was delighted to be given the chance to turn a Bentley into a Pop Art sculpture: “It is the most beautiful and elegant car in the world. The lines of the new design are perfect to paint as a clean canvas. What a way to start a fascinating and colourful journey.” Raul Pires, Head of Exterior Design at Bentley Motors and like Romero Britto, a Brazilian was central to the creation of the Continental GT. He thoroughly agrees with his countryman: “A Bentley holds the unique combination of exhilaration and relaxation in one package. An automotive sculpture with elegant powerful surfaces. The ultimate in craftsmanship.”
The Romero Britto exhibition, hosted by the Automobil Forum Unter den Linden in cooperation with the Mensing Gallery, will take place from 10 July until 6 September 2009. In keeping with Britto’s wider ideals, at the conclusion of the show, the “Britto-Bentley” will be put up for auction in aid of the Nathalie Todenhöfer Foundation for multiple sclerosis as well as Best Buddies, an organization dedicated to improving the integration of the mentally disabled within society.
